The LPYAA has a rich tradition in supporting Baseball in the Lake Placid Area at our very own home at the Fish & Game Athletic Fields! We offer programming from T-Ball through Majors in this classic spring sport.

AGES
T-Ball for Pre-K & Kindergarten
Rookies (co-ed) for Grades 1 & 2
Minors for Grades 3 & 4
Majors for Grades 5 & 6
Babe Ruth for Grades 7 & 8 (subject to interest)
WHEN
Baseball season typically begins after Spring Break.
T-Ball and Rookies run through June.
Minors and up continue through mid-July.
WHERE
T-Ball and Babe Ruth practice and play at the Horse Show Grounds.
Rookies, Minors, and Majors practice at our home at the LPYAA Fish & Game Athletic Fields on Averyville Ln.
PRACTICES
All programs typically practice twice a week during the week throughout the season.
Once games begin, practices will be replaced with mid-week games.
GAMES
Most games occur mid-week, replacing traditional practices. Games may be placed in Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Bloomingdale, or Tupper Lake. Occasionally, games may be made up on the weekends due to rainout or scheduling issues.
JERSEYS
Practice/game shirts are included in the cost of registration.
Frequently Asked Questions
What equipment do we need?
Cleats are suggested for Rookies and up. Cups and jock are recommended for Minors and up. Each player should have their own glove. Bats and helmets are provided for practices and games from the association.
Are scholarships available?
The LPYAA offers need-based scholarships upon request. Contact lpyaasports@gmail.com to inquire about funding options.
