Coaches

Welcome Coaches!

The LPYAA is always looking for great coaches to elevate our program! Coaching with the LPYAA isn't just about teaching sports; it is a place for volunteers to support our mission to introduce, instruct, and promote sustained participation and physical activity across our youth programs and throughout an active life!

We're looking for engaged adults to support all of our programs, whether you've coached at the highest levels or never played a day in your life! There's a space for you.

Part of maintaining a safe and healthy environment requires us to ensure volunteers are equipped to work with our community's young athletes.

Coaching Requirements

  • Coaching Attestation Form
  • Coaches must support the LPYAA's Mission and agree to our policies with youth sport.

  • Background Check
  • A quick and confidential screening is required for all coaches and team volunteers.

  • Heads Up on Concussion
  • A training module offered by the CDC to better educate coaches and officials on the signs and symptoms of head injury and the steps to take should an athlete experience a concussion.

  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Our coaching staff is asked to review basic First Aid and CPR skills so you can be prepared to assist in an emergency. Annual training courses are offered throughout the year for those looking for certification.

  • SafeSport Training Review
  • All volunteers ages 18+ must review SafeSport policies for coaching with minor athletes.

  • Be A Role Model
  • Most importantly, provide a positive experience for our youth!
